Rites of Passage

One vital function of a religious community is to serve as witness to each other in special times of joy and sorrow.

Child Dedications

When a child joins a family through adoption or birth, we honor this time with a Child Dedication. In this ceremony, the child is blessed with the four elements and the Congregation dedicates itself to the spiritual growth of the child and the support of the child’s parents.

Weddings

We celebrate the joining in marriage of all couples who are ready to commit themselves to married life together. Our ministers plan wedding ceremonies individually with each couple.

Memorial Services

A memorial service in the Unitarian Universalist tradition celebrates the deceased person’s life and spirit, often called “A Celebration of Life.” Each service is designed by the minister and family members.

Members wishing to inquire about a rite of passage should contact Rev. Emily Gage, Minister of Faith Development at egage@unitytemple.org.
