The Unity Temple Choir presents Considering Matthew Shepard, A choral Suite for Choir, professional soloists and chamber orchestra on Sunday, November 12 at 4pm at Unity Temple. This profound work has been a major hit around the world. Telling the powerful story of Matthew Shepard through the healing power of music in a dramatic musical presentation. The same powerful message of love and gratitude permeates this abbreviated version. Singers and audiences alike will experience the re-awakened and renewed power of this story and experience the love and compassion for one another, regardless of race, gender, orientation, or religion.

Austrian composer Franz Peter Schubert (1797-1828) lived a brief but musically prolific life. His compositions continue to be among the most admired and performed in the world. The Schubert Festival, a time-honored tradition designed to celebrate his music, is planned on a biennial basis in the newly restored Unity Temple, recently named a UNESCO world heritage site.

World renowned concert artists perform recitals showcasing the works of Franz Schubert and other composers. The multi-recital festival format features the timeless splendor of this composer’s works through song recitals and chamber works. An Authentic Austrian dinner is also available preceding the evening concert. 

The annual Spring Music Festival showcases the outstanding talent of members and friends of the congregation. Anchored by the Unity Temple Players (our house band), this not-to-be-missed event includes professionals as well as the very best amateur talent of our musical family. Proceeds provide scholarships for community area high school students who compete for one of three $1,000 awards applied to voice instruction and benefit the Unity Temple Music Program.
