Special Mindful Reflection Community

Dharma Talk and Mindfulness Practice with Rabbi Robin Damsky - Having trained in mindfulness practice for 18 months, Rabbi Damsky brings together her background in bodywork (as a Medical Massage Therapist since 1977), movement (dance, yoga, Tai Chi and Qi Gong) and spirituality to approach mindfulness from a holistic perspective. Rabbi Robin will introduce a segment of a meditation practice brought forward from the Warsaw Ghetto of World War II developed by Rabbi Kalonymus Kalmish Shapira. While Rabbi Shapira himself was murdered in the war in 1943, his rich meditation practices survived. He buried his teachings in a canister that was discovered after the war. His teachings have become more and more popular over the years. We will explore together his technique of "Haskhatah" - The Quieting Practice.
