Just Mercy Book Discussion Group

Bryan Stevenson's book Just Mercy (the 15-16 Unitarian Universalist Association Common Read) is the basis for a three part discussion group led by Merritt Kanan. Just Mercy: A story of Justice and Redemption is a non-fiction account by the founder of the Equal Justice Initiative, who has dedicated his legal career to defending those who are trapped by an often capricious, political, and willfully unjust criminal justice system - poor people, people of color, children, and others over whom the system has run roughshod. It speaks to justice, mercy, and compassion, themes of concern to us as Unitarian Universalists and as human beings. Discussions will be held on three consecutive Saturdays starting April 9 from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the 805 South Blvd. offices. To sign up, please send an email to Part of our Black Lives Matter book discussion series.
