Rev. Alan C. Taylor, Minister
Reverend Taylor's most recent ministerial appointment has been as minister of Woodinville Unitarian Universalist Church, outside of Seattle, Washington, where he served for the past four years. He was raised in California, and attended Pomona College, from which he graduated with a B.A. in 1990. His academic endeavors merited him many awards, included the Pomona College Outstanding Thesis award for "A Critique of Joseph Campbell's Comparative Mythology." He went on to attend Starr King School for the Ministry, from which he received his Masters of Divinity in 1998. He received Final Fellowship in the UU Ministers Association in 2002.

A few months after graduation from college, Rev. Taylor traveled to India for seven and a half months. He was fascinated by both Hindu and Muslim religions, and, foreshadowing the Universalist contribution to his later ministry, spent much time studying those aspects of each religion which could draw them closer together.

Prior to seminary, Rev. Taylor spent three years as a residential counselor with severely emotionally disturbed children. Later, as part of his program at Starr King seminary, he served for three months as a chaplain on the AIDS/Oncology Unit at San Francisco General Hospital.

Reverend Taylor very much welcomes being the minister of a Unitarian Universalist church which is centrally located in its community, and which he envisions becoming a center in the community for liberal religious thought.

Rev. Clare Butterfield, D. Min., Community Minister
Rev. Clare Butterfield is ordained as a Unitarian Universalist Community Minister. Her ministry, as Director of Faith in Place at the Center for Neighborhood Technology, is a call to all people of faith in the region to reflect on their faith's teachings about environmental stewardship and to come together to act on those teachings.

As our Community Minister, Clare's eco-ministry is embraced by this congregation. She also facilitates social mission here at Unity Temple, and preaches in our pulpit once or twice each year, to keep us updated on her own work and the work of our social mission.
