DIRECTIONS
Unity Temple is located at 875 Lake Streeat, at the intersection of Lake Street and Kenilworth Avenue in downtown Oak Park, Illinois.
From downtown Chicago, take the Eisenhower Expressway west (I-290) to Harlem Ave. (Illinois Rt. 43) and exit north. Go north on Harlem, and turn right on Lake Street. Proceed east to the intersection of Lake and Kenilworth.
From O'Hare Airport, take I 294 (Tri-State Tollway) south to the Eisenhower Expressway East (I 290). Exit at Harlem going north and proceed to Lake St. Turn right on Lake Street. and go east to Kenilworth Ave.
By CTA train, take the Green Line from downtown Chicago and exit at the Oak Park Avenue stop. Walk one block north to Lake Street, turn left, and walk one block west.
The Metra West line also stops in Oak Park at Harlem Avenue.
PARKING
Limited free street parking is available on Kenilworth. We try to leave these spaces available for visitors and senior citizens. However, these may not be available when you arrive. There are parking meters on North Boulevard and South Boulevard (adjacent to train tracks) between Kenilworth and Oak Park. Be careful not to park in areas reserved for permit parking. There are also parking meters on Lake Street.
There are two Oak Park Village Parking Garages within walking distance of Unity Temple. The cost for parking at these garages is very low.
Garage locations:
- on North Boulevard just east of Oak Park Avenue
- on Lake Street and Forest (the next light west of Unity Temple on Lake)

On Sundays, you can park at Bright Cleaners, 100 S. Kenilworth at South Boulevard.
ACCESSIBILITY
A ramp is available on the east side of Unity Temple off of Lake Street. A dedicated parking spot on Lake Street is located at the end of the ramp.
Those using wheelchairs and others with mobility impairments may access the main level of the sanctuary for services via the assisted wheel chair lift. The Garaventa Super-Trac portable lift safely moves a wheelchair and occupant up the stairs, however it must be operated by trained operator. Plan to arrive 15 minutes vefore the service and ask for trained personnel to assist you. For other activities and special events in Unity Temple, please call ahead if you wish to utilize the wheel chair lift. Unfortunately, as a historic building, many ancillary areas are not accessible.
There is an accessible restroom in Unity House. Assisted listening devices and large print hymnals are available during services.
