Midwinter’s Tales of peace, joy and hope on December 4
Walk-In Ministry and Oak Park Festival Theatre present Midwinter’s Tales of peace, joy and hope at Oak Park’s landmark Unity Temple.
Please join us for Midwinter’s Tales, the fifth annual benefit event for the Oak Park River Forest Walk-In Ministry and the Oak Park Festival Theatre. Local playwright Belinda Bremner draws on such diverse sources as Kenneth Graham’s memorable Wind in the Willows, Finley Peter Dunne’s comical Mr. Dooley and his Chicago south side Irish pub, the landmark social work of Jane Addams, and Yiddish folk tales of Hanukah to create a funny, touching, and joyous evening that illumines the spirit of caring and giving we feel as we express our diversity of beliefs.
Following the performance, guests are invited to stay for refreshments and a raffle. Raffle items include theater and sports tickets, dinners from local restaurants, fine wines and more. Raffle tickets may be purchased before or after the performance for $5 each or $20 for 6.
Midwinter’s Tales performs Saturday, December 3, at 7 p.m. AND Sunday, December 4, at 5 p.m. at Unity Temple. Advance ticket prices are $20 for adults, $15 for students and seniors. Prices are $5 more at the door. Proceeds from the evening benefit Walk-In Ministry and Oak Park Festival Theatre. Please see OakParkFestival.com for more information or to purchase tickets online.
