3rd Saturday Coffeehouse: The Northside Southpaws

Join us at 3rd Saturday Coffeehouse on December 17th as we welcome back one of our favorite duos. The Northside Southpaws are John Hasbrouck on mandolin and Matt Gandurski on guitar--a unique, all-left-handed mandolin/guitar duo who perform high-energy string ragtime, old-time country, "proto-grass," and turn-of-the-century waltzes on left-handed resonator instruments.

John Hasbrouck's debut CD of solo fingerstyle guitar, Ice Cream, was cited by Acoustic Guitar magazine as one of the "Top CDs of 2002". He is on staff at The Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago. Matt Gandurski is an accomplished songwriter as well as an in-demand guitarist on Chicago's country scene. He teaches guitar at Down Home Guitars in Frankfort.
