Prayer Meeting (formerly Sacred Conversations)
Mondays, May 7th & 21st, 7pm, West Balcony, Unity House
Rebecca Naomi Reman, pioneer of the mind-body health movement writes: “When we pray, we don’t change the world, we change ourselves. We change our consciousness. We move from an individual, isolated making-things-happen kind of consciousness to a connection on the deepest level with the largest possible reality.”
We’ve changed our name and our format. Our new format includes: chalice lighting, brief check-in, shared silence and group prayer. All are welcome to this drop-in gathering. We meet on the first and third Monday of each month. For more information, please contact Rev. Scott Talbot Lewis at 708-445-1466.
Movies with Meaning - Higher Ground (2011)
Thursday, May 17th, 6pm, West Balcony, Unity House.
Vera Farmiga stars in and directs this sensitive and searching chronicle describing one woman's lifetime journey of faith -- one that initially leads her to join a fundamentalist sect and then leave it again years later. We gather in the West Balcony of Unity House on the third Thursday of each month to watch contemporary films that engage our hearts and minds. Each is followed immediately by a discussion. Films begin at 6 pm with discussion at 8 pm. If the idea of probing the human condition through the medium of film sounds enjoyable, join us. Questions? Call Rev. Scott Talbot Lewis at 708-445-1466.
